October Quotes

October marks the height of Fall: the temperature finally dips and remains chilly. Grab yourself a warm drink and enjoy these October quotes.

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” — Albert Camus.

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald.

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” — George Eliot.

“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.” — Jim Bishop.

“Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.” — Samuel Butler.

“Fall has a unique charm that makes every leaf look like a flower and turns the simplest walk into a romantic promenade.”

— Unknown

“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.” — Unknown.

“Autumn… the year’s last, loveliest smile.” — William Cullen Bryant

October Energy Patterns

October has an interesting combination of energy between the Dog archetype and the trigram Qian.

Qian inspires, motivates, and encourages to embrace mentors. No one goes it alone in this world. We are all mentors to people even when we don't know it. Qian encourages you to listen to your heart and how life calls you to make a difference in your life and the lives of others.

The Dog archetype spirit always reminds you to maintain your integrity and faithfulness with all the gentle souls that share your human and animal life. This bit of animal medicine is true for yourself, too – you cannot be a good friend to others without having the same relationship with yourself.

Environment Points of Interest-

East - Spending more time with family this month opens the portal of fortunate blessings. Add a thriving plant here illuminated with bright lighting.

Southeast - Double and triple-check your credit card/bank accounts for potential hacking. Put safeguards on financial accounts. Place metal and virtual water elements here for the month.

South - Align your vision with your soul's purpose to advance your career goals. Place a thriving plant in this direction.

Southwest - Slow the pace with your partner this month. Starting too many new projects can put tension on your relationship. Add a fire element to this sector.

West - Cultivate quiet time to renew your spirit. Take long walks in nature, sit by an open fire, and enjoy the simple things in life. Place a grounding stone such as black tourmaline in this direction.

Northwest - Analyze new networking connections closely as they may not be what you think. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Place a virtual water element in this portent direction.

North - It requires the help of others (mentors) this month to advance in your career and life purpose. Place a metal element in this sector to attract the right mentor.

Northeast - Abundance flows in this month when you take the time to evaluate your resources and cultivate a calm mind. Place a strong fire element in this sector.

Wisdom Corner

You can make a quantum leap in your life without working harder. Working harder may set you back. The only way you can advance in life is by thinking differently,

This is not a new concept. Everyone knows it at some level. You've been exposed to the idea many times in your life. You've been told to "see the glass as half full, not half empty" and that "every problem is an opportunity in disguise."

Despite this knowledge, the vast majority find it difficult to think differently. You can't think differently by trying to think differently. The only way you think differently is by examining the mental models you hold that cause you to think the way you do and then make changes to them.

If there is something you want in life that is causing you angst, would you rather get what you want or outgrow the need for it? Only you can answer that question. But think about this, is there a scenario you can visualize in which not having what you desire could be a good thing?

The change that happens within you lets you experience life differently and joyously. The next time you think you want something, pause and decide if it is better not to have it.

Grounding

Fall is a time of transition. Many trees and shrubs are quietly undressing in preparation for the winter. There is a subtle browning of the earth. Temperatures, which, just a few weeks ago were raging with the intense heat of summer, are beginning to hint at the telltale crispness of autumn.

The fall brings a predominance of the air element that can leave us feeling exposed and ungrounded. There are simple things to ground yourself and maintain your focus. Let's take a look and see what you can do!

  • Space Clear. Try burning white sage in the center of your home. Let the scent waft through the space purifying the energy and your thoughts. This is a great time to set intentions, meditate, and settle chaotic thoughts.

  • Crystal Tray. Crystal grounding is a fantastic way to connect with yourself and the natural world. Connecting with the Earth's energy has powerful healing effects. Click here and see how you can create a grounding Crystal Tray.

  • Grounding Yoga Poses. Yoga represents the element of earth in feng shui analysis. Practicing yin yoga or certain yang poses is helpful when you feel your mind is chaotic causing you to be ungrounded. Here are just a few poses that can ground and center your energy. Mountain pose, Warrior 1 & 2, Tree, Triangle, Chair, Goddess, Pyramid, Plank, and Garland pose.

  • Diet. Certain foods can help ground your body and mind. Foods such as leafy greens, pumpkin seeds, carrots, root vegetables, ginger, and turmeric are grounding and delicious!

During these uncertain times, it is important to sit back, take a deep breath, and savor the moment. Make a conscious decision to ground yourself by utilizing the simple techniques in this article.  Take MJ's Free quiz Here and move in the right direction.

 Sleepless Nights

We all know a busy mind will keep us tossing and turning all night. Did you ever consider the electronics in your home are also keeping you up?

With the recent rollout of 5G and other advanced wireless technologies, it has become a whole lot more difficult to minimize your exposure.

According to the researchers, coherent EMFs "can cause irregularities on the cell membranes, which can lead to DNA damage resulting in infertility and cancer.

EMF radiation affects sleep because it has been known to reduce the amount of melatonin that we produce. The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne conducted a study on exactly this.

The primary reason for this is that the pineal gland (the organ that produces melatonin and other hormones) interprets the electrical nature of the EMF radiation as a source of light. Thinking that it is still light outside, or in the room, it limits our melatonin production to combat this.

Studies have also shown that EMF exposure can disrupt our circadian rhythm (our body's internal clock) dramatically reducing the quality of our sleep.

What You Can Do:

  1. Turn off your cell phone at night or at the very least put it on airplane mode and place it 6 feet from your bed.

  2. Turn off your Wi-Fi at night. Your Wi-Fi router floods your home with RF radiation. There is no need for your Wi-Fi to be on all night.

  3. Swap out your lighting. LED and CFL lightbulbs add to dirty electricity, and blue light and emit radiation. Choose the old incandescent bulbs instead.

  4. Throw out your metal spring mattress. Metal is a conductor of electricity and a magnifier of EMFs.

  5. Decorate with natural elements, incorporating plants, salt lamps, and crystals like rose quartz, hematite, and citrine.

 Feel-Good Home

At the end of a long and stressful day, there’s nothing better than walking through your front door and finally relaxing.

For some, that feeling of relaxation just doesn’t happen. If your home is messy, cluttered, or unattractive, it might not be the sanctuary you need.

Your home should be your sanctuary. It should be a place where you can truly relax and be at ease, a calm and clutter-free space. You should look forward to spending time in your sanctuary – and, if you like to host, inviting others to experience it, too.

Are you ready to make your home your sanctuary? Here are a few things you can do to get started.

  1. Clean up often. Stay on top of regular chores. Put away coats and shoes and stay on top of your laundry.

  2. Be intentional with your lighting. How you illuminate your home can have a big impact on how it feels.

  3. Make comfort a priority with throw pillows, soft rugs, and comfortable furniture.

  4. Get rid of the clutter. Having too much clutter is an easy way to make your home feel like anything but a sanctuary.

  5. Be selective with the items you choose to decorate your home with. Make sure you love the decor you bring into your space.

  6. Consider a water feature such as an aquarium. It can be very soothing to watch.

  7. Hang a landscape painting or tapestry. It will bring a refreshing openness - literally, an expansion of horizons to any interior as well as a mood of tranquility.

  8. Hang a stained glass decoration inside a window to throw patterns of rainbow-hued light into the room whenever the sun catches the panels.

  9. Introduce curves into a room, for softening effect. Curved shapes are gentler on the eye than angular ones and invite repose.
