Opening Doors

Writer: MJ KaslinerMJ Kasliner

March represents a month of doors opening, renewal, and intuitive timing. The energy is strongest to the East direction containing a mixture of qualities.

In Native American culture, the eagle is the considered the spirit keeper. It is one of the most revered symbols that holds great significance representing strength, freedom, wisdom and spirituality.

With its ability to soar high in the sky and its keen eyesight, the eagle is seen as a messenger between humans and the divine.

The eagle is believed to possess the ability to soar above the earthly concerns and gain a higher perspective on life. Its keen vision is also associated with clarity of thought and the ability to see beyond the surface. The eagle encourages us to spring forth, grow, and enjoy the self-discovery process.

March is also the time of the Rabbit archetype. This spirit animal carries strong intuitive timing, abundance, and fertile treasures. It's easy to become distracted by everything happening around us. It's important to remain focused this month so you can tend to your Dharmic garden.

Just as mother nature tends to the gardens of the earth, we need to tend to our inner garden. Awareness is essential so we know exactly what we are letting into our life.

In yogic philosophy, the third Niyama or Tapas is traditionally translated as discipline and austerity. Discipline requires focused effort. We can sharpen our focus skills through practices like meditation, yoga, breathwork, walks in nature, mindfulness, qigong, etc. The idea is to focus on everything we do with a steady mind so we can successfully tend to our inner garden. Distractions come with a cost. They fragment your energy in many directions smothering your aspirations like that of a weed smothering a plant.

March also brings in the energy of yin wood. Imagine yin wood as grass or creeping plants like ivy. They are soft, graceful, and tidy. Approach this month with a soft and graceful attitude like that of yin wood.

In nature, wind represents yin wood energy.

On page 33 in my book, Mother Nature a Bridge to Conscious Living, I discuss the powerful manifestation of wind:

Like breathing, wind is a source of energy that surrounds us continually connecting us to a state of being, never dying or reborn but simply transformed. In the past wind was the energy that fueled the first explorations slowly transforming the world, and for the future it holds our destiny.

Chapter 2 in my book is dedicated to wind, the qualities reflected in our nature, what we can learn from the wind, how to balance its' energy, meditations, and statements from the wind to reflect and journal your thoughts.

March is a time yin wood bursts from Mother Earth and the doors open so we can spring forth!

Boldness - Positivity

Have you ever struggled to stand up for yourself or your dreams? Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

What does it mean to be bold? It often means to stand up for what you believe in, despite stepping on someone's toes.

We all deserve every good thing life has to offer. This realization can be enough to act with boldness, which is a strength that lies deep within.

Acting bold builds confidence, draws people together, and can make a real difference in your community. It also can help you make empowered decisions that move you in the direction of your dreams.

When you act with courage, clarity, and kindness positive things happen. Through positivity you can keep yourself afloat upon the rough waters of life.

Positivity helps you see the world as full of joy and posiibility. Difficulties may arise, but confidence and the innate goodness of all things gives you the power to cross the stormy seas to find the calm waters.

When you center your thoughts on your higher self, you'll feel equipped to stand up for what you believe in including your dreams. This has a way of helping you evolve into the person you desire to be.

Let's face it, life is always changing and we are always growing. Boldness and positivity is a perfect match when it comes to leaving the past behind and looking towards the future of following your dreams. As you do, you live more fully into the precious moment of NOW.

Silence

Silence is often underestimated especially in this action-oriented world we live in.

Silence provides a break from the unending noise that surrounds us. It is an invaluable tool to clear the mind, get in touch with our intuition, solve problems, improve focus, and give the mind time to reset.

Silence can be an emotional refuge leading to greater understanding, awareness, and a way to cultivate inner peace.

Spending time in silent appreciation of nature is restorative for the mind, body, and soul. It's a great way to enhance our sense of wonder and connect to the environment.

Practices like meditation thrive in silence.

It encourages us to focus inward and cultivate a sense of calm and centeredness.

Starting today, I invite you to join me for a 30-day silent meditation challenge. We begin with 1 minute and will work our way up to 30 minutes in silent meditation. Each day I will post a new video on my YouTube channel.

Here's to silence!
