Today, try to set your intention to be more aware of the blessings you may be taking for granted. When you become mindful of your surroundings, you are reminded that beauty is everywhere.
Invariably our days can be so full of habit and routine, that we overlook the small wonders that are all around us.
A busy morning may set the pace for a frantic day. Below are a few simple ways you can change the energy pattern for your day and discover so many delightful things that can brighten your day.
--Take Pause: Before you fall into the trappings of your busy schedule, take pause and enjoy the people, pets, and your home that bless you daily.
--Warm Drink: Start your day with a mindful cup of coffee or tea. Pay attention to its preparation. Notice what your body senses as you prepare for, and drink, your beverage: the sounds in the room, the aroma, and the warmth of the cup in your hand. Don't multi-task, just meet the moment with your drink. When we meet the day with a purposeful pause we train the mind to be present. The body's sensations keeps us grounded in the moment.
--See the Big Picture: Really look at your calendar for the day. Is there room in your day to attend to what is important? Have you allotted time for taking care of yourself physically and emotionally? When we spend most of our time putting out fires, we can’t attend to what is important—strategically or personally. It’s depleting and ultimately not sustainable.
--Fuel Your Body: Choose whole organic foods. Mindfully eat your food— taking in the tastes, smells, colors, and textures. Take your foot off the gas and remember how powerful it is to connect to yourself and to those around you. This is a great way to fuel your body, mind, and spirit.
--Walk it Off: Any time you feel your heart racing as your mind fills with judgment and worries, simply walk it off. As you begin to walk, put your phone away and notice your feet touching the earth, how the air feels touching your skin, the ambiant sounds, people that you pass, etc. If your mind wonders, redirect your attention back to your body's experience.
Following these simple tips will give you a whole new perspective. You'll look with new eyes and see the myriad expressions of life unfolding. You'll discover the wonderous world around you.
