Self-care is about applying the Golden Rule to ourselves. It fosters personal growth and improved quality of life.
Too often, we treat others well but neglect ourselves. In the short-term, we may be able to manage that but in the long run, withholding self-care is a recipe for burnout and harboring resentment toward others.
The easiest way to engage in self-care is to schedule specific windows of time throughout your day. For example, meet up with a friend, eat your lunch outside, or allow yourself an occasional treat. The following are ways you can engage in self-care activities:
--Exercise and Eating Healthy
--Meditation and Yoga
--Nature Walks or Hikes
--Enjoy Your Favorite Tea or Coffee
--Schedule a Massage
--Get a Manicure and Pedicure
--Take a Hot Bath with Essential Oils
When you practice self-care life is calmer, more enjoyable, and helps you make better decisions that foster your physical and emotional health.
